Why do we, in a progressive and permissive society, still choose to wear clothes for non-hygienic purposes?

Do you think that if nudity were the norm that we might see less gluttony and sloth? I'd think the churches would be the first to jump on that bandwagon. But wait? The clergy ARE, the most gluttonous and slothful! Can't happen. Conclusion? The clergy is fat, lazy, and is embarred to be seen naked, therefore all of us must wear clothing!
