How can one liven a relationship up?

You just have to try different things. Doing the same thing over and over again could get boring. When I say different things I mean going on a road trip, going away with her for a weekend (like Atlantic City), going on a boat ride, visiting places in the city (maybe the Statue of Liberty), or take her out to dinner at an exotic restaurant. Part of the reason why Krax fell apart is because no one wanted to do anything and we kept doing the same **** over and over again.
