Is ice skating a womans sport?

Hey, recently I've been looking for a new sport to take up, and I found this ice rink like 5 mins away from my house...I went ther e and thought it was pretty cool (I suck at ice skating but I used to rollerblade quite a bit, so I managed to zoom around :)) I dont really want to do anything serious like figureskating or formal stuff, my only qualm is that it is a bit 'unmanly' Do a lot/any men/teenage boys ice skate? or is it somthing like ballet? I'm pretty fit, and I'm pretty good at any sport that I have a go at...Also, around how much would a pair of (beginner) skates cost, and is tuition essential?
