My husband in involved in a crime but I didn't know about it, what rights do I have as a spouse?

We live in Okinawa and he's in the military. He and I have been seperated for about 3 months and I found out about the crime after the fact from a friend of ours, now the Japanese Police want to question me and don't want me to leave the country, why am I being pulled into something I didn't know about or have anything to do with.
