Hi all, I inured my right calf on Sunday when I was running as it pulled and I had to limp home.?

was not happy. anyway when I walk the pain is there and if I go and put pressure on it like try and run with one stride it is so painfull. The doctor today put me on anti in flamitories. I know this is an injury of my calf. But when I got to the doctors not only did he presribe me medications for it he wrote out a refural for me to get an ultrasound and wrote to look for DVT, what the? this never entred my mind. I know it is an injury as it is so painfull when I walk and if I try and jog on it I take one step on the right leg and it is so painfull so running at the moment is out of the question until it heals. But why on earth would this doctor put to look out for a DVT on the form? He messured me right and left leg and my right one injured one the right one was bigger. I phoned the radioligy place and they wanted to know what is the ultrasound for. and when I said the doctor wants to rule out DVT they wanted me in asap. so tommorow I will be going down there in the morning. they wanted me in today but could not get there. My uncle and granddad died of a heart attack as a blood clot traveld to their hearts and grandma had a stroke as a blood clot travelled to her brain and she died too. But DVT never entred my mind, I still believe it is a calf injury even though my leg is swollen. opinions?
